The iXsystems Engineering Team arrived at the Storage Networking Industry Association’s Storage Developer Conference in Santa Clara, California at the end of September, FreeNAS Mini in hand. We were ready to attend, present, and participate in one of the most intense storage-related technical conferences of the year!
The fourth biennial vBSDCon was held in Reston, VA on September 5th through 7th and attracted attendees and presenters from not only the Washington, DC area, but also Canada, Germany, Kenya, and beyond. While MeetBSD caters to Silicon Valley BSD enthusiasts on even years, vBSDcon caters to East Coast and DC area enthusiasts on odd years.
iXsystems had a major presence at VMWorld 2019 with many members of our engineering, marketing, and sales teams attending to meet up with our clients, partners and new prospects. Back in San Francisco this year, VMworld featured the latest hybrid and multi-cloud advancements from VMware and its partners. Data management continues to be a primary topic of conversation and everyone wanted higher performance and cost savings.

iXsystems attended their first INTERFACE-RENO Conference last week which was held in Reno, Nevada. The INTERFACE Conference is a globally renowned IT conference series held in various cities all over the world, with an emphasis on bringing the latest innovations and IT technologies to attendees. In addition to covering IT infrastructure, the INTERFACE series covers disaster recovery, IT security, enterprise communications, and more. Though our first time at this conference, our booth (#210) was constantly busy due to the number of attendees interested in FreeNAS and the fact that we were one of the few storage vendors at the conference.
iXsystems made its third visit to the NAB Show in Las Vegas last week. NAB remains one of the largest and most important shows in Las Vegas, consuming a total of six floors across all three exhibit halls at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Thanks to a recent partnership with Cantemo, a leading provider of media asset management tools, iXsystems presented a FreeNAS Mini XL running Cantemos’s iconik application at their booth.
Cantemo and iXsystems have partnered to integrate a hybrid cloud storage and media management solution for media and entertainment (M&E) companies. The partnership sees Cantemo’s cloud-based video and content management hub, iconik, running natively on the iXsystems TrueNAS line, offering best-of-breed performance and data integrity in an intuitive platform.
The 17th annual Southern California Linux Expo (SCaLE) took place from March 7-10 at the Pasadena Convention Center. There were about 150 exhibitors along with nearly 130 sessions, tutorials, and events. Around 3,300 attendees from around the globe descended upon the exhibit hall and explored all the events and sessions SCaLE had to offer. The iXsystems Team staffed two booths at the conference, the FreeBSD Booth (#515) and the iXsystems Booth (#517).
