FreeNAS 11.2 debuts a new Angular-based web interface, making it the first Open Source storage OS to incorporate Google’s very popular JavaScript framework. The FreeNAS 11.2 release also introduces new virtualization and container subsystems, plus support for Self-Encrypting Drives (SED) to comply with mission-critical security and privacy regulations.

Gartner Conference: Infrastructure (and FreeNAS) is Everywhere!
Gartner held their 35th annual IT Infrastructure, Operations, and Cloud Strategy conference in Las Vegas from Dec 3-6. iXsystems was invited by Gartner to participate, representing both FreeNAS and TrueNAS. The conference was a great opportunity to get the pulse of the enterprise market, listen to Gartner analysts speak on a wide range of topics, and have some fruitful conversations with IT Directors and other vendors.

MeetBSD 2018: The Ultimate Hallway Track
MeetBSD California 2018 took place October 19th and 20th and succeeded once again at bringing together many of the biggest names in the BSD community in an informal, low-stress environment. True to its UnConference roots, MeetBSD 2018 offered a mix of formal talks and audience-participation activities, including Lightning Talks, OpenZFS and Virtualization Panels, and Breakout Sessions. MeetBSD 2018 also stayed true to its Silicon Valley/Bay Area roots, attracting attendees from the region and around the world.

EuroBSDCon 2018 Recap
The iXsystems Team travels to Bucharest, Romania to attend EuroBSDcon 2018. Like other BSD conferences, there was a two-day DevSummit followed by a two-day conference.
