I was able to get mine all up and running but there is no longer a server properties tab on the left menu for some reason, the gui console is gone now as well.

the profile tab should show available jars, as long as your jail has internet access+DNS availability.

The jail does have internet access. I think that I will just backup my world and re-install the plugin. I don't see any jars listed in the profile tab.

I think server properties were all combined into the servers default screen.
console is under logging

I just made a backup of my world and did a fresh install of the plugin. I could not get any profiles to be listed so the webui was seriously broken after the upgrade. The fresh install is working great profiles all listed was able to download them without any problems. I just created a new empty server and dumped the world in that. All is good except for having to learn more :)

did you restart the mineos jail? I updated the plugin middleware code so this is required.
Okay -- I had previously stopped and started the jail, which didn't work. A restart did work. Interesting and thanks!

all, this is a great plugin! I've successfully created, started and connected to a minecraft server on my FreeNAS box

I have skimmed through this thread, but can't find information about importing/transferring an existing minecraft server that I've created with this tutorial https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/how-to-install-minecraft-server-in-a-jail.18246/

Thing is, for some reason, I can not connect to that existing server (I don't know why). But I'd like to save all of the server information and try to get it working through the mineos plugin.

Is this possible?

thanks.

it is possible. I would recommend creating a new server with the settings how you want in mineos, then replace your server/SERVER_NAME/world folder, and user related files in server/SERVER_NAME, set ownership of the files to match what you are replacing.

I can successfully port forward and connect from the outside to my server. I can't figure out how to change the default mcserver/mcserver combination for user and password, as I would guess this is a must if I want to continue to connect from the outside..... I can't seem to find any good literature on how to change, or am I understanding that its a freenas permissions change, and not the MineOS? If it is a freenas setting, I need some help please.

thanks.

Howdy sir. After installing FreeNAS for business purposes, I thought I'd install your plugin and import a world I've been working on in my spare time for the past couple of years.

Before I could port that world, though, I ran into a wall: I can't connect to the jail/plugin.

- The jail is up with the proper permissions and is on a reserved IP with 8443 open.

- The plugin shows "on".

- Using both FF and Chrome, an attempt to login results in ... nothing. Spinning connect circles. Given enough time, a time out occurs.

- I have tried different IPs and/or ports but the result is the same.

- I ran this from the jail terminal (based on your response to a similar problem from May '15):

root@mineos_1:/ # service mineos onestart
mineos already running? (pid=38091).
root@mineos_1:/ # service mineos onestatus
mineos is running as pid 38091.
root@mineos_1:/ # ps aux

BTW, other jails are working fine.

Thx!

can you ping your computer from the mineos jail?
can you try stopping and starting the plugin from the Plugins > Installed tab, then try accessing it again

EDIT
ohh, to confirm, you are being presented a login screen right, the issue is after trying to login? Are you using the default credentials?
If there are any relevant logs they would be in /var/log/mineos.log I believe.

I will look at the logs...

Ok, here's part of the log file. Interesting because I dropped a zip file into the import directory and it appears mineos is trying to open it or something, but I can't even log into mineos to tell it what to do.

did this happen to be an upgrade from a previous version or a fresh install of the latest version of the plugin? i a fresh install isn't working for you, I'm not sure what could be going wrong?

Also I editted the previous post with a few things to try.

I'm thinking I need to reinstall the plugin (maybe the jail, too).

Fresh install. I applied the latest update earlier tonight (freenas), but that had no effect on this problem.

I specifically meant plugin updates.

if you delete the plugin it will delete the jail for you so that will be done for you.
