The Storage Networking Industry Association’s Software Developer Summit (SNIA SDC) 2017 took place just after vBSDcon 2017 from September 11th through 14th in Santa Clara, California. Developers and decision makers from the largest storage vendors in the industry attended this event and I found it invaluable to my role as iXsystems Senior Analyst.

Open Help is a conference designed to help documentation writers learn about new tools and share writing insights. Hosted in an historic part of Cincinnati, the conference was lightly attended, but bursting with ideas and opportunities to exchange knowledge. The best method to summarize this enlightening meeting of the minds is with three “C”s: Conference, Collaboration, and Cincinnati.
VMworld 2017 is just around the corner and iXsystems is looking forward to seeing you in Las Vegas. Attendees will take a lot home from the five days of general sessions, hundreds of breakout sessions, group discussions, and expert panels. Rove the exhibit hall and see products from hundreds of vendors and partners.
The iXsystems team headed down to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Southeast Linuxfest (SELF 2017) to spread awareness about FreeBSD, FreeNAS, and TrueOS. As sponsors, we had a tremendous time at the event, and it was extremely rewarding engaging and speaking with the Open Source community down there.
The team that attended the LinuxFest Northwest 2017 conference recapitulate the events that occurred there as well as their overall experience. Over the Saturday and Sunday, the team assembles a FreeNAS system, answers questions regarding FreeNAS Mini and XL, and Allan Jude even gives a talk regarding the history and overview of FreeNAS.
