Finally - I, too, am the proud owner of a pair of SFF-8087 Forward Breakout cables! That took long enough.
Just connected them to the M1015 a few hours ago, but already the system has been fed lots of data and hasn't yet lagged even a bit, let alone crashed.
It's too early to tell if this was the solution and my controller(s) and/or SATA cables were dodgy, but it certainly didn't hurt either.
@andoy31: see if you can find a changelog. I recall there was an important reason to update to P14 for me, as there was a certain program that absolutely required the use of 14 over any other version.
For your own situation: if it ain't broke...
