Hey
I build my nas last week +/- at that time I had 2x x520-da2 cards, 1 pc , 1 workstation and direct connection via CISCO SYSTEMS SFP-H10GB-ACU10M cable.
At that time when I run CrystalDiskMark, I had about 1gb seq32 read, 240 4k32 reads and around 600 seq read(1000/240,600), the writers were in the range of 500mb for seq ones. I know that ARC was helping and all that but even when I copied file on/off the let's say, 1gb that was taking 1-2 seconds - I was super happy.
Recently I got TpLink T1700G 4sfp+ switch. But upon connecting pc + switch + nas now I'm getting 300/100/300mb read and 350/100/350 write. Which is a bit scary. Not to mention if I copy file the transfer starts at 300mb and drops down to10mb. If I read from nas. Writing is a bit better but still hopeless... I enabled/disabled tunables but I'm out of ideas as to where the issue could be. Maybe the swich has bad configuration or something?
When I was putting the cables I had few..."kinks", I know I should not kink it but well it happen its 10m long cable and well not very good with cables - could kink cause that? The transfer speed from my PC to another PC are low too so maybe its switch/kink ?
Has any1 else experienced that? Or do I have bad switch or something?
Thanks for help.
