Do I have to totally rethink this network?
1, 4 buildings close enough I can get some copper runs for 10gig 2 that I can afford Fiber for 2 runs as it is
2. Trying to isolate the exposed camera/IR emitter / Audio I/O to two sub nets because DVR bandwidths only a gig per NIC port.
3. I am looking and having a hard time deciding on a 16-24 Layer3 switch.
4. Not shown are the small army of IR Emitters that is why I went with POE switches between the NVR and cameras n each building and the cost of that wattage was 1/10th of Injectors and their jumble of wall warts.
5. Big question is if I should instead have a SG-7100 or more to be able to do what I am doing?
6. We will be building a second floor in a couple years and by then I will have Layer3 switches everywhere... because why not create a bigger mess.
7. Please tell me if I am completely doing this wrong.
8. If switching to a Netgate SG-7100 to let it handle VLAN firewalls where would it go besides sitting on top of the Layer3 switch or do I leave it in the sunroom with the boobtube and game stuff?
