Pg 10 of the 9.2.0 Manual says:
The built-in admin user account is no longer used and Account → Admin Account has been
removed. The first time the FreeNAS® graphical interface is accessed, a pop-up menu will
prompt for the root password. Subsequent logins to the graphical interface will require this
password.
I am usually very good about recording all that stuff, but somehow I don't seem to have this. I have been logging in with my Admin account now for quite a while, but if I upgrade it sounds like I am going to loose it.

In my FreeNAS-8.3.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r12825) version, can I set (reset) my root password so that I am good to go after the upgrade, and if so, how do I do that? I don't see that option in the GUI - do I have to do it in terminal?

Thanks again for the assistance.

Account -> Users -> View Users -> [click on root] -> Modify User
Or change the admin password (Account -> Admin -> Change Password) and also tick the Change root password as well checkbox.
