Hello guys.

First, I want to say thanks to anyone who made FreeNAS possible and good as it is. Great job guys!

The problem is that I'm having a odd issue, and I could not find any help searching the Internet.

My FreeNAS will not connect to my network, but it will work if I boot Windows from another partition, and then reboot the PC and choose the FreeNAS pendrive to boot after Windows. This way it Works, and I can acess the WebGUI, the Shares, and FreeNAS receives the IP and shows as Conected Devices on my Router.

If I don't boot Windows first and I use DHCP on FreeNAS, it Will get the IP 0.0.0.0, and using a static IP, it will not work.

And in Windows, everything works fine with DHCP.

My PC:

Pentium G2020.
1x8GB Markvision.
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H

Using the Integrated NIC: Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Using the latest FreeNAS release!

Any help will be very apreciated!
Maybe I'll post a video later showing how it works.

Thanks in advance!

As jgreco would say, sometimes the hamsters in the Realtek NIC's get tired.

Get an Intel Pro/1000 CT NIC, ~$30 USD for an OEM version.

I don't think they're tyred, they just don't wanna work if the problem is the NIC, because my Motherboard is brand-new! :D
Do you also think using a proper NIC will solve this problem?

>>> I can't find this NIC arround here, is there another good and cheap option? Could you guys name few other options?

The Pro/1000 GT is a PCI card and would fit in your system. The MT came in two flavors - a single port desktop version (PCI) or a dual port server one (PCI/PCI-X).

The CT, albeit a desktop adapter, is a PCI-E card. Using a PCI-E NIC is preferable over the PCI versions.
