Installing 64 bit version of FreeNAS 8.02.
The installation process proceeds to load the kernel.
The installation GUI loads.
The install to hard drive option is chosen, but it does not continue the installation.
It just hangs.
Installing on SuperMicro Server with Adaptec SCSI Controller and Logical RAID 5 SCSI partition.
Any thoughts on what could be the issue?

Thanks

Hello CBNAS,

I am having similar problem with 32 bit version of FreeNAS, except i cannot get to install menu.
I pass the boot menu, and the process hangs on USB bus scanning. I have NO USB devices connect at this point.

I have tried all menu options except for the console , which i haven't explored much. Same result: hangs.

I tried to replicate the RAM setting (around the 700MB ) in a VM (VirtualBox and VMWare Player) and the install went without a hitch, i got it up and running.

I'm probably going to install it over a VM, but i would prefer to do a bare metal install.

Cheers!
