Hi,

I am trying to install FreeNAS 11.3-U5 on a deskside PC, but the installation hangs with errors such as:

sym0: suspicious SCSI data while resetting the BUS.
sym0: dp0,d7-0,rst, req, ack, bsy, sel, atn, msg, c/d, i/o = 0x3ffdf, expecting 0x100
(noperiph:sym0:0:-1:ffffffff): SCSI BUS reset detected.
run_interrupt_drive_hooks: still waiting after 300 seconds for xpt_config

I tried both installing from a USB drive and from DVD, but the behavior is the same.

Having read many posts about the second message (“still waiting after XXX seconds...”), I found someone solving the problem by disabling the 1394 controller from BIOS, but it didn’t help for me.

My PC has an ASUS P7P55D motherboard, Intel i5 750 CPU, 8 GB RAM, a SATA II controller (currently with a single Seagate 7200 RPM disk 500 GB), and runs BIOS American Megatrends v 02.61

Any help or hint is greatly appreciated!

Luigi
