I recently installed a new intel network card in our freenas server. Upon enabling it in the web ui I immediately lose connection to the UI and cannot access any of the shares. The motherboard ethernet port is still enabled and was assigned a static ip. This had happened previously and I tried to stop the new interface card using the console, but with no success. I am unsure what to do as even a restart will not bring back the web ui.

You'll need to re-configure the network settings from the console. When it prompts you to reset the network configuration, select yes. This will reset the interfaces and try and get an IP address from DHCP.

Paste the output (or a screenshot) of ifconfig within code tags.

Well, there's no carrier on the Intel. Check the cabling to the switch.

Connected the SFP cable to the switch, still unable to access the control panel.

As long as the entry under "ix0" says "no carrier", you have no connectivity. There's either a problem with the card or the cabling.
