The days of summer are slowly fading away behind us as fall quickly settles in. Here at iXsystems, we look ahead to a busy season of trade shows to support the various open source projects we are involved in. Armed with our impressive supply of daemon horns and a team of professionals, we aim to conquer at the following events:
Software Freedom Day September 15
SFD is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). The goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business – in short, everywhere! iXsystems has sent a box of goodies to this event that includes PC-BSD 9.1 DVDs, FreeBSD stress balls, and PC-BSD wristbands.

This will be the fourth year running for KyivBSD, an annual conference held in Europe. The event will be held in Kyiv, Ukraine. This year there will be discussions about embedding BSD systems, tutorials about poudriere and pkgng, and insights into mpd5 and a few more technical subjects. There will be FreeBSD stress balls and light-up daemon horns floating around courtesy of iXsystems, so keep your eyes peeled for those!

Ohio LinuxFest September 28-30
The Ohio LinuxFest is a grassroots conference for the GNU/Linux/Open Source Software/Free Software community that started in 2003 as a large inter-LUG meeting and has grown steadily since.
This year, we have Dru Lavigne, Kris Moore, and Ken Moore staffing a booth for FreeBSD and PC-BSD at the conference. They will answer questions and pass out PC-BSD goodies, so be sure to drop by if you have the chance.

MeetBSD November 3-4
MeetBSD California is not your average conference– it’s a meeting of the minds from all over the BSD community. This year’s conference, taking place at the Yahoo! campus in the San Francisco Bay Area, promises to be an experience unlike any other. MeetBSD California 2012 will feature community-scheduled break-out sessions, discussion groups, and 5-10 minute “lightning talks” in addition to longer talks from seasoned BSD experts such as Scott Long, David Maxwell, Sean Bruno, and Adrian Chadd.
Dru Lavigne will be present to administer the BSDA certification exam on site. Kris Moore and Josh Paetzel from iXsystems will give full-length talks on PC-BSD and FreeNAS at the conference. This is a great opportunity to meet the unique individuals and brilliant minds behind the various BSD projects.

Supercomputing November 12-15
For 24 years, this conference has been at the forefront in gathering the best and brightest minds in supercomputing together. One of the best parts of attending a conference like SC is not just to immerse in the most complete and up-to-date knowledge available, but also to meet and mingle with the most innovative people in the industry.
Andrew Madrid, Matt Finney, Josh Paetzel, and Peter Allen from iXsystems’ Sales and Technical teams will be in attendance at the iXsystems booth at Supercomputing this year. iXsystems staff will also have a presence and demo in the Fusion-io Partner Pavilion at the show.
