intel_iss2015 The annual North American Intel® Solutions Summit was held last week in Dallas, Texas and iXsystems was invited to attend. I attended on behalf of iXsystems and met with fellow Intel Partners from around the country.

It would be impossible to share everything I had a chance to see and do; however, it would be remiss to not call out that iXsystems was recognized by Al Diaz, Intel’s Vice President, Data Center Group, and General Manager, Product Collaboration and Systems Division. This recognition occurred during his keynote when we were recognized for our “optimized solutions for open source community.”

This recognition further enforces the fact that everything we do at iXsystems involves and benefits Open Source technology. We incorporate Open Source solutions into our product line as well as into our company infrastructure. Open Source is not only what we do…it’s who we are.

We are the main developers of PC-BSD, FreeNAS, and TrueNAS. We contribute code, resources, and/or portions of our proceeds to FreeBSD, OpenZFS, and Slackware Linux projects. We spread the Open Source message in print, radio, and video publications as well as through our participation in various tradeshows around the globe, representing FreeBSD and FreeNAS. Our CTO is Co-Founder of the FreeBSD Operating System, and we employ a long list of FreeBSD and Open Source project committers, all of whom came to iXsystems because of their passion for Open Source. Al Diaz also mentioned that iXsystems builds servers for every use case on Intel Xeon® processors. We work with Intel to build enterprise solutions that meet the needs of our clients, providing a level of flexibility rarely found in the enterprise server market. iXsystems utilizes a state-of-the-art facility and has strict quality control procedures at every step of the production process, including an exhaustive burn-in time, to ensure optimal performance for our clients.
