All Things Open 2014 Recap

}

October 30, 2014

All Things Open was held in Raleigh on October 22 and 23. This was the largest ATO to date, with over 1000 attendees. There was also a good mix of female attendees, due in part to the Women in Open Source panel on the second day and the number of female speakers.

iXsystems sponsored a FreeBSD booth in the expo area which saw steady traffic on both days. As usual, there was a lot of interest in FreeNAS and the FreeNAS Mini as well as questions about the upcoming FreeBSD 10.1. One hundred dollars in donations was raised for the FreeBSD Foundation.

The ATO organizers did an excellent job in organizing this conference and arranging for a space that encouraged networking between sessions without over-crowding. We’re glad to have had a presence at this show once again this year!
