Spring is teeming full of events this year. With boundless energy, iXsystems looks ahead to the lineup of spring tradeshows. Starting with April, we will have schwag at BSD Day in Naples, Italy, then have representation from several members of the iXsystems team at NAB, Write the Docs, and Linuxfest Northwest. In May, we’ll check out Interop, reunite with some old friends at BSDCan, and then head back south to Texas Linuxfest. We look forward to seeing familiar faces everywhere we go!
Central Europe BSD Day April 6
The purpose of this one-day event is to gather Central European developers of today’s open-source BSD systems, popularize their work, and provide an interface for real-life communication. There are no formalities, no papers, and no registration or participation fees; however, invited developers are encouraged to give a talk on their favorite BSD-related topic. The goal is to encourage potential future developers and users, especially undergraduate university students, to work with BSD systems. The event will take place at the Institute of Biostructures and Bioimaging in Naples, Italy. The BSD Certification exam will be hosted in the morning during the event.

Write the Docs April 8-9
Write the Docs is a two-day conference based in Portland, Oregon, which focuses on documentation systems, tech writing theory, and information delivery. Writing and maintaining documentation involves a multidisciplinary community of technical writers, designers, typesetters, developers, support teams, marketers, and many others. This conference creates a time and a place for this community of documentarians to share information, discuss ideas, and work together to improve the art and science of documentation. Dru Lavigne, our very own FreeBSD, FreeNAS, and PC-BSD documentarian, will be there to represent iXsystems and the BSD community.

BSDCan May 17–18
This BSD conference in Ottawa, Canada, has quickly established itself as THE technical conference for people working on and with 4.4BSD based operating systems and related projects. The organizers have found a fantastic formula that appeals to a wide range of people from extreme novices to advanced developers.
