hi all,

i was running freenas from a USB pendrive before so i decided to give freenas 8 a shot.

everything boots fine, when i get to the freenas boot choice screen, my keyboard works (pausing the timer, choosing an option), however when the installation screen appears (console setup) its as if the system hangs, when i press num/caps or scroll the lights dont respond, stay lit.

i also tried freenas 7 to check if it was just a problem with 8, but its the same.

can anyone help please?

thanks,

Have you checked your BIOS for USB compatibility settings, might be worth a shot.

Ah sorry, missed that. I do know that FreeNAS doesn't play well with USB3, so you may have to disable that if your motherboard has it. Some info on your hardware would be useful, you know, when diagnosing hardware related issues.
