Promise FastTrack TX4650

Has anyone had luck getting FreeNAS to recognize this controller? My RAID5 volume is not showing up when viewing disks.

Look at the logs (dmesg) in FreeNAS. What do they say about your controller? If you don't know what to look for, look for any error messages, things like "failed to attach" and so on.

I believe that the controller is supported. The problem most likely is that you set up the RAID array on the controller itself. With FreeNAS you don't do that. Don't even set it up as JBOD. Just attach the drives to the controller and then configure the RAIDZ level inside of FreeNAS itself.

Honestly though, ditch that controller. It's abysmal. It's only a PCIe-1X card that can't keep up with four spindles attached.
