Hello!

After a bit of a frustration with VirtualBox, I am looking to get as much as possible replaced with jails. The biggest obstacle so far is Dropbox and Insync (Google Drive sync).

I have seen in some other threads that the linux jails are not particularly up to date - I would like to pose more general questions, how well do they work in general? For example, can one expect to download CLI version of Dropbox and install and configure it like if it was running on a linux box?

Create a virtualbox jail and use it to install your distro of choice.

Linux jails aren't just out of date, they are dead. 9.3 has them removed because they just didn't work as well as we had hoped and were plagued with problems. If you were a linux pro you could usually work around them, but for most users it was impossible to fix.

If you want a dropbox or google drive sync jail you'll have to create them yourself (assuming the software even exists).
