Hi, yes I am a noob.
I have my first Freenas setup and running so far almost everything is going well. However I have a few questions... this one relates to FTP upload using a web browser.

I have setup a single FTP user as per the documentation, and I can connect to the ftp service, however I can't figure out how to upload a file from within a web browser. There are no options available on the displayed web page for this. (I have allowed write access for the user and group).

I have tried chrome & firefox, both let me log-in and download files, but no upload option.

Can somebody provide any assistance please?

The only browser I know that supports FTP upload was IE 6. I have no clue if that's changed since I haven't used IE in ages.

Try these instructions to FTP with Internet Explorer. The key step is #3 - Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. I just tested it with IE8. I know of users who use it with IE9 (the command might be hidden). Dunno about IE10 (haven't tested it).

Why not use a real FTP client, like FileZilla?

On some systems, I use FTP via a CLI to move files around.
