Have been exploring FreeNAS and, coming from OS X server, and have some confusion with the FreeNAS ftp manager. I have been using Rumpus as my FTP server on mac, which allows a separate "root" folder for each user. Those "root" folders could live essentially on any attached storage.

I cannot seem to keep a user account in their home-directory. Even after enabling "always chroot" a connected test user can move up and out of the home directory. Certainly I am missing something. Essentially I want each user's home directory to be the "root" directory that the user cannot move out of.

Thanks

Yes the user was a "wheel" member, that was causing a conflict. Thank you, I did read that bit on the wiki. I think that I just need to reorganize my file structure in way that is conducive to the FreeNAS permissions. Thanks
