Hi all,

I have an atom cpu computer and with 2G RAM. I want to transform this old computer into home NAS by installing Freenas in it and mainly use it for bittorrent file sharing purpose.
I want to know if my hardware is sufficient for that purpose or not ?
Any comments ?

Thanks

FreeNAS/ZFS actually requires 8GB, not 4GB. UFS is either going away or has already gone away, can't remember which. Jails do not work on UFS in any case, so, no, no BitTorrent on UFS.

4GB of RAM is by no means enough. The bare minimum is 8GB.
Also, random Atoms will not work well. Starting with FreeNAS 10, only server Atoms will work. This means only the C25xx and C27xx Atoms will work.
