error message when trying to delete file/folder

Trying to delete a folder with files in it that transmission started to download but i stopped and now the incomplete files are just taking up space.

Getting this error on my iMac:
"The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."

I have deleted every thing inside the torrent folder, but can not delete the folder itself.

any ideas?

What are the permissions on the folder that can't be deleted?

Permission is set to 777
Also some thing strange happens where everything disappears from from the folder and I have to back out and then back in. Maybe unrelated

Yes, this is no longer an issue.
