In reconfiguring how my pools are laid out, I deleted the pool that my system dataset was on without remembering to move it to another pool first. However, I did not notice anything bad happening. Freenas automatically selected another pool to put it on. It was only just now a couple days later I realized I forgot to move it first.
My question is, is there anything in particular I should check for issues or errors? Does Freenas have some intelligence to move the system dataset to another pool if I delete the one it's on? What happens if the pool it's on were to completely die, or some idiot (me) were to remove the disks in the pool thinking it was fine?
I back up the system configuration, so not worried about that. Just curious.
