Can't start new jail: "due to VNET failure"

FreeNAS 11.2-RELEASE-U1

So I have one jail (for Plex) that's been running fine. Tonight I went to create a new jail on another free static IP for testing another app.

I set it up the same way, with VNET enabled, a free static IP /24 and all that. But when I go to start it, I get:

I'm immediately thrown out of my league, and Google searching has not been successful. .... help?

Does updating to 11.2-U2.1 resolve the issue? If not, does following the instructions in the Known Impacts section of https://www.ixsystems.com/blog/library/freenas-11-2-u2/ resolve it?

I have to admit... I've been extremely trigger-shy w/ updates for a while given the multiple reports of data loss. I don't mind setting up a separate new fresh boot device (then import my config) to try a new version, but irreversible data loss even if I go back to my previous boot device gives me pause. :/

Which reports of data loss? An update should not affect the data on your storage pools. Having said that, are your pools encrypted? Losing your keys would result in data loss.
