Access naslite drives with FreeNAS?

I had a bunch of photos on hard drives running on a box with Naslite (~v1) on a floppy. It quit working and now I can't seem to get another working copy of Naslite. (They've moved on to newer versions and I have no desire to buy the newer one.)

Can FreeNAS read these drives without formatting or writing anything to them? They are EIDE drives. I have several old machines laying around that I can use. Ideally, I would put the OS on a USB thumb drive.

What filesystem is on the drives? http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Volumes#Importing_Volumes has information on importing certain filesystems with FreeNAS.

~99% certain that the filesystem is ext2.

So... according to the doc you linked, it appears that FreeNAS can do exactly what I need.

I'll give it a go.
