11.2 Transmission permissions

Hi. I have transmission set up in 11.2 iocage. I added a mountpoint to my main pools downloads dir. I set the umask to 0 which I believe is the same as 777? I am getting permission errors in the Transmission web UI "Error: Permission denied (/usr/local/etc/transmission/home/Downloads/"

Any ideas how I can fix this?

I would advise 007 for the umask. This is rw-rw---- and then you need to map users/groups to your jail.

Thanks for the reply but I decided to reinstall back to 9. I have been having nothing but problems with 11.2. Plugins not working correctly, crashing etc.

11.1U4 has been rock solid for me. 11.2 is BETA and I would not advise anyone use it unless they plan to test and file bug reports. The 9.x branch is horribly outdated.

Hi. Ye its says beta in the name. Not sure why its on the main Freenas sites Download page. I have been happy with 9. I'm just a home user, I only care about shares, plex, transmission and sickrage. Works for me.
