iXsystems to host this year’s conference at the Yahoo! campus in the San Francisco Bay Area
iXsystems, Inc.® is pleased to announce the third biennial MeetBSD California Conference. It will take place November 3rd and 4th, 2012 at the Yahoo!® campus in Sunnyvale, California. The conference will feature a day of lectures and presentations on Saturday followed by a day of “unconference” style discussions and workshops on Sunday.
MeetBSD is a conference for BSD community members that originally started in Warsaw, Poland. Developers, contributors, users, and community members from all the BSD operating systems and related projects come together to talk about their respective projects as well as BSD as a whole.
iXsystems hosted the California edition of MeetBSD in 2008 at Google® in Mountain View. The 2010 California edition of MeetBSD took place at Hacker Dojo, also in Mountain View. MeetBSD California 2008 used a more traditional conference format, while MeetBSD California 2010 used an unconference format of informally scheduled discussion groups and breakout sessions. Feedback from attendees was largely positive for the unconference format, so iXsystems elected to continue this format for the 2012 conference.
