A popular video making the rounds in the storage industry is a demonstration of the effects of vibration on the performance of spinning disks. We at iXsystems decided that this new discovery merits more investigation so we decided to run our own tests.
The rack we’re using for the test is an anti-vibration rack from Green Platform Computing. We’ll be running performance tests on our popular open source software, FreeNAS. Here’s a quick sneak peek at what to expect.
