FreeNAS Featured in BSD Magazine April 2013

}

April 23, 2013

This month’s issue of BSD Magazine highlights FreeNAS, the free and open source embedded NAS operating system developed by iXsystems. iX employees Dru Lavigne, John Hixson, Mark VonFange, and Annie Zhang contributed articles, and the featured interview is with Alfred Perlstein (iXsystems VP of Software Engineering and FreeNAS Project Leader).
With the recent FreeNAS 8.3.1 release, there are plenty of new features to talk about. Readers can find articles on plugins, disk encryption, ZFSv28, and much more. FreeNAS users share their own experience with the open source project, whether it be in a business environment or for casual home use. There are also articles exploring deployment of TrueNAS ,FreeNAS’ professionally-supported, enterprise counterpart, in the field.
We hope everyone learns something about FreeNAS from this issue! It can be downloaded at BSDMag.org. Printed copies of the issue will soon be available for purchase from the FreeBSD Mall.
