Wrong time on VM

Hi guys,
I noticed a weird issue I have on my VM and I would appreciate if anyone can point me to the problem.
I have my FreeNAS system set to my local timezone correctly:

But it seems that my running VM has a problem with that, skewing its internal clock by 3 hours (which is my timezone)

For some reason, the VM thinks that UTC is the freenas timezone, so setting a correct timezone in a VM gets me 3 hours ahead.
Not setting it to the timezone, messes up some time settings in my app inside the vm.

Any points on what am I missing and how to get this fixed?

One option would be to point your VM to sync to a public time server

Easiest solution is to tell your VM operating system to treat the RTC as local time.
