Would a board flash BMC heartbeat with bent CPU Pins?

I recently found a stored Supermicro x10srh cln4f with a Xeon that I wanted to sell, I tested it and got no video output but the BMC heartbeat was flashing, I just sold it and the buyer wants a return because apparently some pins are bent in the socket. Do BMC heartbeats flash with a broken CPU/bent pins?

Yes. The BMC is an independent processor. There is probably some pattern of pins you could bend to cause the BMC to fail, but that would be very unusual IMO.
