How finicky is a SM board with RAM?

Long story short, I have a X9DRi-LN4F+ but the CPU 2 socket is dead. I thought it was a bent pin and after like 4 hours of messing with it, it is still dead. This board is also a bit too big for my Rosewill case so I'm looking for another.

The X9DRD-7LN4F-JBOD seems like a good option because it will fit, and I can reuse my CPUs. Which brings me to the question. How finicky is this board with RAM? I know it isn't on the list but should there be any issue using the same ram from the original board? They are HMT42GR7BMR4C-H9 16 GB DIMMs. RAM is the most expensive part so I'd rather not drop another few hundred dollars on 128GB.

In my experience: Extremely. The chip model on the PCB must match tested models. I had bought two extra sticks four years after first purchasing the motherboard and the -suffix! on the chips was off my a few numbers and they weren't even recognized by the BIOS.
