Hey Guys,
i already checke the user guide for 11.3 also see that u only can do it with vdevs aso.

So is their any workaround to add a 4th hdd to my pool instead of adding 3 new hdds in a vdev?

I know that in previous freenas versions it was no problem, but now?

or is my only choice to destroy the whole raid and make a new one with all 4 hdds and if can just destroy the pool without losing the data?
or is my only chance of downgrading to an older version to do a raidz1 with 4 hdds?

any help would be much appreciate

Yes, that's your only choice. You'll need to backup your data off-box; destroy the existing zpool; create a new zpool; and then restore your data.

That's not right... it has always not been possible to change the width of a VDEV in RAIDZ.

There's work currently in progress to allow it, but it's probably more than a year away from FreeNAS getting that change (assuming it is completed at some point).
