SOLVED Windows VM not more then 2 cores

Hello

I run windows 10 in a VM on freenas and it runs good enough for what I 'm using for it.
But the weird thing about it s that I will not get more then 2 cores. Even when I shut down the VM and type in the textbox"CPU Cores" a 6 save it and then start the VM it will still not get the 6 cores.

I got a asus C2750D4I witch got 8 cores. I use 2 cores for plex so there must be 6 cores left. Even when I try 3 or 4 it will just be 2 cores.

Is this normal or is there a weird setting that I missed?

BHYVE is limited to 2 cores with windows. There will have to be a change to BHYVE for it to work with more cores. Just have to wait.

Pute this in the tunables:

hw.vmm.topology.cores_per_package=4

Now you will have 4 cores in your Windows VM

I have a vm with windows 10 and it works fine for me. Have you done a reboot after the change

yes it worked needed to change the setting in the VM setting it self also.

I'm following instructions here https://people.freebsd.org/~grehan/bhyve_uefi/windows_iso_repack.txt but get stuck at the last step, repacking the iso fails saying genisoimage: No such file or directory. Invalid node - '0xEF'
