After installing 11.1-U1 on a USB using UEFI, I boot and right after trying to mount
Code:
root from zfs:freenas-boot/ROOT/default
I see

Code:
Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode

There a couple of things to note:
- My old boot device is still connected, but I am booting from the USB when this happens. Do I need to disconnect the old device? (it's a SATA connected SSD)
- my zpool is encrypted. Could this be causing an issue?

I have also tried multiple USB sticks to install from/to

What's the hardware on this system (as per the forum rules)? What version were you running before on this hardware?

Apologies

ryzen 1700
asrock x370 taichi
corsair 32 gb DDR4 ECC RAM
the old boot device was an intel 128gb SSD
the zpool are WD Reds

I was running 11.1 before, but I had never tried to use a USB as my boot device so I'm not sure if it ever worked with this hardware.

Is the error repeatable for both BIOS and UEFI installation? If you remove the old boot device?

Unplugging the old boot device fixed the issue. Is this intended behavior or should I open a ticket?
