I just received a notification of an update to freenas-pkg-tools, but I cannot find anything on the website about the update. How do I ensure that the update is valid and what the update is?

When you go to system->update, you will be able to view the update changelog (click "check for updates" if you don't see anything).

The current update is: FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201502271818
