Unable to boot 9.3

I am guessing this may be a compatibility issue with the motherboard, but figured would post.

I have a x7dbr-e supermicro board, and I cannot get 9.3 to boot. After clean install server sits with blinking cursor in upper left corner.

I have tried replacing the 4GB stick with a 16GB stick and that behaved the same.

I think the USB controller is being reset during the install. I was able to install 9.3 to a HDD just fine. When I trying to install from HDD to USB. I noticed USB_ERR_TIMEOUT before the installation and the installation just restarts, instead of ever finishing.

Performing a GUI update from 9.2.1.9 results in a crash as well.
