I'm trying to get FreeNAS installed on my machine, with an MS 7869 motherboard running the P21-A3 BIOS. I had 9.2 successfully installed on a USB stick, but every method of installing 9.3, to any drive (USB or SATA HDD) causes my computer to stop recognizing the disk as a bootable medium.
This is a complicated one. I have tried nearly everything, fresh installs, upgrades, GUI upgrades. I have manually rewritten the MBR on the USB stick, rebuilt it from the GPT, tried booting from the GRUB super disk. I have also googled everything I can think of to find a solution to this.
The closest I got was removing the MBR from the USB stick, which caused my machine to boot in to the GRUB rescue console.
Does anyone have any advice?
