Hi!

Tried to upgrade to the latest 11.2 today. After the system rebooted I get the following message "This is a NAS data disk and cannot boot system. System halted."
I have mirrored my boot drive over 3 usb devices, the first (original) device seems to have failed.

I'm now wondering if the other 2 devices in the pool is missing the bootloader.

Can I restore/install the bootloader on the 2 remaining devices without having access to my FreeNAS-installation, or do I have to reinstall?

Regards,
Fredrik

Did you check the boot order on bios?
Loader should be on any of the boot drives.

Yes, I checked. It’s still USB first. This is an HP MicroServer gen8 and the only thing I did was the FreeNAS update.

A couple of weeks ago I removed the faulty drive from the boot-pool, but I never removed IT physically.

I found the problem. The HP Microserver does not allow boot from USB3.0-ports on the back of the machine.
Moving the USB-device to the internal port solved the problem.
