So, I'm thinking about buying something that's a used / refurb maybe supermicro (I've seen on our forums people have had issues with dell poweredge 2950 type servers, losing pools)
I was looking at something like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPERMICRO-...356954?pt=COMP_EN_Servers&hash=item1c4008199a
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=331195679685
something like one of those there. I was also looking at some older dual xeon ones, but I have questions about those. Are ram speeds less than say 1000mhz okay for freenas? I'd assume so but not sure. And are processors with a lack of AES-N1 instructions in older xeons (or at least it's not listed on ARK) not advised? I'm not using encryption. Some of you guys may know I'm sacrificing my old pool anyway :)
I was going to build a newish server on older hardware, but I'm looking at these things and thinking it may be a better route
