System Update "pending updates" not installing latest FreeNAS version

I have a FreeNAS box on 11.3-U1. It's been a while since it was upgraded, and 11.3-U3 was out, so I went to System update, clicked on install pending update.. which updated the OS to U2.
For the future, is there any way to tell what "pending updates" are? Can FreeNAS overwrite downloaded "pending updates" with more recent updates? Actually from working in IT I should be wary of applying updates, do not blindly click on update, know what you are installing, so I guess I should have been more careful. I just need to do the update again to get to U3.

It's actually 11.3-U2, and yes, it will show you right in that screen what the version it proposes to go to is.

You can get back to 11.3-U1 via boot environment, should be quick and easy.

I have a similar issue, I have 11.3-RELEASE installed, but the update wants to take me to 11.2-U2:

Thanks for the reference, but will this get fixed ... eventually? Feels like a zombie bug rising from the dead again and again. Where's the stakes and silver bullets ...?
