I have a Warning: The 9.3-STABLE Train is now in Maintenance Mode. No new features or non-essential changes will be made. Please switch to the 9.10-STABLE train for active support.

My question is 9.10 is more recent than 9.3? Is the nomenclature correct?

Hmm, yes, while 10 is greater than 3, 9.10 is not greater than 9.3. Am I missing something?

Are you mentally inserting an extra dot between the 1 and the 0? Otherwise, 9.10 should be 7 higher than 9.3... (and I know, the naming sucks).

Yes, I guess I am. So 9.10.0 is newer than 9.3.0...
Yes think of it this way:

9.3 = Main version 9 Subversion 3

9.10= Main version 9 Subversion 10

if there was to be something like 9.10.1 it would be

Main version 9 Subversion 10 Tertiary version 1

After a dot it is a separation of fields and the number increase = a later version. The more dots the more fields to compare and without a dot it is considered a zero.
