I have created a volume with 1x 270GB and 1x 300GB drives. This is a Stripe of 490GB and I would like to changes this to be a RAID volume of say 250GB. How can I switch an exiting Volume from Stripe to RAID?

Destroy the pool, recreate it as ZFS mirror and restore the data from a backup.
There is no other way to convert those two disks into a mirrored configuration.

ok. I destroyed the volume and tried adding both disks as Mirror but FNAS doesnt do anything. I accepts my selection (both disks and Mirror) but after clikcing OK it brings me back into the UFS VOlume Manager without error message.

Actually when trying to setup UFS mirroring, I did receive an error:
Can't store meta data on "[one of the disks]". Operation not permitted.

I don't know anything about UFS, but in this case I'd recommend to wipe the disks clean before trying to create a pool. To wipe the disks you can use for example a tool like gparted (live cd available) or any other OS/tool you feel comfortable with.

Thanks. you are right. The problem was that the disk was not entirely clean as I only detached the volume (without wiping). After I had re-imported the volume and detached WITH wiping, then it worked fine.
Many Thanks
