Should my jail "software" dataset be nested inside the jail dataset?

When I'm setting up my plugins jail, the wiki (http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Plugins) says to create a separate dataset for holding the jail software, but doesn't explain why. I created two datasets, one named 'plugins' and one named 'software'. The jail is housed in the plugins dataset. Do I want to create the software dataset inside the plugins dataset? If not, why not?

The broader question is, when is it a good idea to create a dataset within a dataset, as opposed to simply creating a regular directory?

Your "software" set act as repository when upgrating jailed software. (think i read this somewhere, that why i named mine "repo")
Yes you want to create a dataset within a dataset, so you can fold the folders in the GUI (8.3++), dataset acts somewhat as seperated filesystems.

(FYI: if you would share jail with NFS you cant access your "software" set from the NFS mountpoint)
