Hello,

I've been using FreeNAS for sometime now without failure but it's about that time I replace some disks, I think...

I guess I'm not sure which is more accurate, the email alerts or the zpool command. I've been receiving emails that look like the snippet below. However when I run the zpool command the pool is reported as online and all disks are online. If i'm being honest I have noticed a slight slowdown on this pool. If i'm remembering correctly performance can be degraded when a disk goes out in a parity raid. Also running a smart test takes 2 -3 times longer on ada2 than all the other disks, but it returns without error(as far as I can tell). However, the pool is not degraded. Should I replace ada2 and ada3 now?

Email:
New alerts:
* Device: /dev/ada2, Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1

Current alerts:
* Device: /dev/ada3, 23 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
* Device: /dev/ada3, 22 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
* Device: /dev/ada3, Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1
* Device: /dev/ada2, failed to read SMART Attribute Data
* Device: /dev/ada2, Read SMART Error Log Failed
* Device: /dev/ada2, Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1

Yes if you are failing smart tests you need to replace the drive
