Rsync Qnap or Synology to FreeNAS Over the Internet

Hello,

I'd like to setup about 10 of my clients on Qnap or Synology at each of their location, and have it backed up to FreeNAS (remotely) at my office. My questions are:

1. Is this possible? And is this a good way of going about it?
2. Is anyone here doing this for their customers?
3. Can FreeNAS be used to provide cloud backup as a service?
4. Customer data ranges between 1GB to 10GB, is this going to be a problem?

Not really. I know it works, just need to configure the devices properly. But i'm thinking of going different route. I can get the following system for $445.00 (taxes in):

HP Z400 Intel Quad Core Xeon W3520 – 2.66 (4 Core), 8GB DDR3 ECC, 2 x 1TB WD Red HDs, 1 x Kingston UV400 120GB SSD (OS)

HP Z400 will be running FreeNAS on it at the customer location, and backing up (remotely) to the server at our office.
