Rsync QNAP =server Freenas Client

Hi There,

I would like to know how to configure my Freenas 9.3 on a Proliant 310 G5 server.
As the QNAP is the original data I thought I need to configure the Freenas as pull.
I just want to start every week via ILO the proliant and then let it copy the new data from the QNAP.
Unfortunately the fine documentation speeks about rsync between to Freenas servers.

Are you reading some part of the documentation that I am not? I do not see where it is geared toward 2 freenas servers at all.

Anyway it doesn't seem to work..

Rsync is the same no matter what system it's on unless a propriety company does something different with it. So it should work from your qnap box.

Anyway it doesn't seem to work..

The EXAMPLE shows 2 FreeNAS units. What did you really expect? A competing nas unit and a FreeNAS?

You apply the same logic and use rsync on any OS.

I can't believe what this world has come to. People want everything handed to them on a silver platter without any thought themselves.

Rsync works fine with FreeNAS connecting to any other OS.
