I used the E-350 CPU from AMD in my NAS until now. For the past month a coil on the motherboard has been acting up, being noisey. I RMA'd the mobo and they're replacing it. Either I'm getting a new E-450 mobo or money back.

I liked the E-350 I'm getting decent speeds. I wouldn't mind if it sped up but it's ok for just me. I have 8GB RAM in it but that's the caps for that kind of mobo. And I intend to expand my pools during the year. I'm looking at AMD's desktop CPU's with a new motherboard that can support more RAM. It will be more expensive powerwise with a desktop PC. my rig didn't use up much. But with more disks the CPU is going to be a less part of the power consumtion anyway.

Are AMD's CPU's flawed, are there any "traps" with getting in bed with AMD?

I intend to also expand with the IBM M1015 during the year.
