Hello,

using freenas 8.0.1.beta4.

I have a active volume of 5 HDD in raidz2

One of my disk died (electrique failure).

Bought a new disk

How to:

- install this new device (new physical hdd)
- then
- how to add this disk to my previous volume in raidz2
- then
- how to rebuild my volume ....

Of course, i dont want to do any stuff like "backup your data and recreate from scratch" things ....

So far, this release of freenas is a deception for me ( faulty gui, bugs, no gui upgrade betwenn 8.0.1 beta because of limitation for hdd size ....).

shut down (unless your hardware supports hot swap)
remove old disk
insert new disk
boot
login to web gui
storage tab
click the disks with the magnify glass icon for your pool
find the failed disk and click 'replace'
choose the new disk.

that should do it.

I would like to know if that really did work. I thought it was broken in Beta-4 but hope I'm wrong. I would also like to know if the RAIDZ2 was originally created on FreeNAS 8, does it have the swap partition and does it recreate it on the new drive?
